Our Story

It all started when...

we were searching for an integrated multi-zone audio system for one of our clients when we came across home automation. We had just reinvested in our media production company Royant Studios. 

Our dad, Robby Badal, founded the company June 1991. Architect and builder by profession he wanted also create music for his hobby. So he decided to invest and build a professional audio recording studio. Royant Studios later became one of the top music production studio in Suriname recording where many national and international artists recorded. We grew up with music production since we were little as we naturally had to learn to work with the sound equipment.

After our education had finished we decided to change the course of the company more towards engineering and programming, with the focus on research and knowledge development. We partnered with UC Miami to develop the Automation market in the Caribbean, bridging the possibilities of innovative technologies between our regions.

Being able to bring this innovative technology was quite a difficult task for us but with help of our partners, understanding clients and family we were able to succeed. We hope to serve our clients to the best of our abilities help them build the home of office they've always dreamt off. Automation is the future way of living and working and we are very honored and excited to be a part of creating a beautiful and abundant future together.

We have currently installed more than 88 automation systems. We now have 13 people working in separate teams to finish multiple projects for 2022.

Our Team

Founded in June 2012, Royant Automation delivers high quality and redundant automation systems to residential and commercial clients. We are based in Paramaribo, Suriname. Our aim is to facilitate home and business owners with custom-designed technological solutions in order to make their day to day experience and operations more efficient, cost-effective and easier.

We want every client to be able to experience how they can incorporate automation into their life and show them what it feels like to have control over their home. In 2020 our new experience center will be finished. This will be the first of its kind in Suriname and the Caribbean. 

Avinash Badaltjawdharie MSc.

Avinash is the co-founder and CEO of Royant Automation. He has designed the new strategic and operations plan for the future expansion of Royant. He has a Masters degree in Entrepreneurship and New Business Venturing from RSM Erasmus University and a Bachelors degree in  Information Technology from Hogeschool Rotterdam.

Rohit Badaltjawdharie

Rohit is the co-founder and COO and the co-writer of the new course for Royant Automation.  He is the main technical engineer and operations manager and has many years of experience in electrical engineering and information technology. He received his training in hardware and networking technology during his studies in India. 

Vivek Badaltjawdharie Msc.

Vivek is the chief technical/construction Engineer at Royant Automation. He is a masters degree in Civil Engineering from TU Delft in the Netherlands and is the main analyst and project manager during the construction phase and implementation.

Rafael Vinals

Rafael is a partner, chief consultant and programmer working with Royant Automation. He is the founder and CEO of UC Miami, a company based in Miami, and he has been active in the home automation industry for over 20 years. With his experience and knowledge, Royant Automation has the necessary strong base to grow and expand the business.
